Eye Care Doctors & Family Optometry in Fayetteville, Eastover & Hope Mills, NC

Meet our experienced and friendly eye doctors who make Professional Eye Care the leading provider of vision care products and services in our area.

Dr. J. Eric Raynor

Dr. J. Eric Raynor opened his practice in Hope Mills in November 1993 in the Main and Trade Building. He moved across the street to our current location at 3701 S. Main St. in 1999.  He attended Campbell University where he played baseball and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1989.  He then went on to attend and graduate from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.  While in Memphis, he met and married his wife, Susan.  They have two children.  Their daughter will complete optometry school in 2020.  Their son, who also hopes to become an eye doctor, is a freshman at Methodist University and is playing baseball.  Dr. Raynor and his family live in Benson and are active members of Benson United Methodist Church.  Dr. Raynor is a member of the AOA, the Sandhills District of the NC State Optometric Society, and Vision Source.  He is proud to offer the best and latest technology in eye care.  He offers it with kindness and compassion.  Recently, Dr. Raynor was honored by being named Fayetteville’s 2017 Best Optometrist by Up and Coming Weekly.

Dr. Robert Naylor

Dr. Robert Naylor who grew up in Clinton, N.C, has been practicing at Professional Eye Care since 2005. He attended N.C. State University where he graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Zoology. He went on to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where he underwent an extended externship at the Hefner VA Hospital in Salisbury, N.C, specializing in ocular disease and management. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Sandhills District of the NC State Optometric Society.  Dr. Naylor and his wife, Angela, reside in the Fayetteville area.  He enjoys fishing and outdoor activities.  He proudly offers the latest in eye care with kindness and compassion.

Dr. Joseph Ballard 

Dr. Joseph Ballard joined Professional Eye Care in Hope Mills in September 2014. A native of the area, he graduated from Pine Forest High School in 2005. He then studied at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2009. In 2010, he married his high school sweetheart, Ashley, before moving to Memphis, Tennessee to attend optometry school.  They both received the degree of Doctor of Optometry in 2014 from the Southern College of Optometry. He is a member of the AOA and the Sandhills District of the NC State Optometric Society.  The couple is happy to be living and working near where they grew up; they now reside on a farm in Linden, NC.  Dr. Ballard offers the latest in eye care with kindness and compassion.

Dr. Alan Price

Dr. Alan Price, a North Carolina native, graduated summa cum laude from Campbell University in 1997 with a B.S. degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He entered optometry school in the fall of 1997 at University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where he graduated in 2001 with the Doctor of Optometry degree. He completed externships at Birmingham Veterans Administration hospital and the prestigious Duke University Eye Center. Dr. Price completed a residency at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 2002. He studied glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, eye injuries and infections, pediatric optometry, and specialty contact lenses during his residency. In addition, he served as an on-call doctor at the W.W. Hastings Indian Hospital’s emergency department. In 2002 Dr. Price returned to North Carolina and has practiced optometry in various locations, including his own private practice in Wake County, NC. Active in the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Price earned Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry in 2002.
